Incoming students

Erasmus + Study Admission Procedure

The general admission criteria for students wishing to study in Florence as Erasmus students are explained below. The Agricultural School has decided to accept students who have at least a B1 level of knowledge of the Italian language. All our courses are taught in Italian (with the exception of the master's degree course in Natural Resources Management for Tropical Rural Development). The lack of knowledge of the Italian language could make it very difficult to attend courses and take exams.

Students interested in writing their doctoral thesis or in an internship must inform us of this intention and the related field of study in the Learning Agreement submitted prior to their arrival in Florence. Regarding the thesis, students are required to specify the required ECTS value (eg. 12 ECTS) and the time they intend to devote to this work.

We cannot guarantee the implementation of any changes requested by the student during the period of stay in Florence.

                                                Students must communicate the date of their arrival.

Students requesting attendance records should consult the course professor, who is responsible for signing the student booklet (attendance is not compulsory for Italian students, although highly recommended).

Students selected for an Erasmus study mobility period in Florence must be nominated by their home institutions. The International Relations Service of the School must receive the name, contact details and degree course for each Erasmus student nominated by e-mail. Students will receive their information material and will fill in and send:

• Enrolment Form (EF)
• Learning Agreement (LA) Remember that all documents must be stamped and signed by the institution of origin and will not be taken into consideration if not signed and stamped;
• Italian language certificate (mandatory).

Leaving Florence: check-out

The closing date of your Erasmus in Florence coincides with the date of your last exam, passed or not, or the end date of classes if no exam was taken. In the case of traineeships, the end date of the mobility coincides with the end date of the activity.

1. Before checking out, check on GCS Student Career Management to see whether all examinations have been recorded, fill out the “esami sostenuti” form (pdf ), and submit it to erasmus(AT)agraria.unifi.it

2. To avoid delays in the issuance of the final Transcript of records, while in Florence, check periodically on GCS Student Career Management the transcripts of exams taken. It is important that records are kept, even of failed exams. Hence, it is your responsibility to ask each Professor specifically to record a failed exam if you require so.

3. By submitting the form, you are telling us that you have completed the activities and wish to receive the Certification of Stay and Transcript of records. The International Relations Office will close the mobility and send the Certification of Stay and Transcript of records by email to your home university and in copy to you.

4. You have formally ended your Erasmus mobility period in Florence by checking out. Therefore, you can no longer take exams or other educational activities.

5. The Certification of Stay issued upon arrival and departure is in Unifi format. No other form or declaration will be signed.

6. Make sure to hand in all your library books before you leave Florence. If you forget to do this, you will receive a fine.

Erasmus + Traineeship admission procedure

Students interested in coming to Florence as Erasmus trainees must be selected by their home institutions. The program is aimed at meeting the needs of students looking for specific training opportunities or research activities.

Students have the responsibility to identify a contact person (click here) at the host institution (DAGRI) willing to welcome them, to outline the project they intend to develop and to fix the period of stay (between 2 and 12 months).
